Rainmaking, a corporate innovation and venture development firm, has acted as a matchmaker in five opportunities, getting maritime giants to work with eight startups as part of its Trade & Transport Impact Programme. Cargotec, HHLA, Inmarsat, Shell, and Wärtsilä have been paired up with startup teams from eight different countries. They will work on 13 separate projects with the aim of accelerating innovation that delivers genuine business results.
It is broadly recognized that the maritime industry is in desperate need of incremental innovations to catch up with the changing world, so Rainmaking’s efforts are certainly welcome by the industry.
